Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Derkins Labs (“we”) collects through this website, why, and what rights you have. We keep tracking light: our own product analytics are cookieless, and the only cookies we set are for measuring ad performance — off by default in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland (see Cookies & analytics below).

What we collect

Contact requests

When you use the “Schedule a call” form, we collect the information you provide: your name, work email, company (optional), your message, and an optional budget range. We also record your browser's user-agent string and a one-way hash of your IP address (never the raw IP) to help us prevent spam and abuse.

AI idea generator

The hero “What does your business do?” tool sends the one line you type to Anthropic's Claude API to generate its response. We also store that input, a timestamp, and a hashed IP address in our database so we can understand how the tool is used and improve it. Anthropic processes the input to produce the response under its own terms. Please do not enter confidential, personal, or sensitive information into this field.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your inquiry and, if relevant, discuss working together.
• To generate the AI ideas you asked for.
• To protect the site from spam and abuse.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the demo is used so we can improve it.

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.

Where it is stored

Submissions and generator logs are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Access is limited to the small Derkins Labs team. Inputs to the AI generator are additionally processed by Anthropic to produce the response.

Retention

We keep contact requests for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any resulting relationship, and generator logs for up to 24 months for analysis, after which they are deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.

We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers named above, strictly to operate this site.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or similar laws), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Ask us to delete your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

Cookies & analytics

We keep first-party, cookieless product analytics: our own server records anonymous, aggregated funnel events - for example, a page view, that the idea generator was used, or that a “Schedule a call” button was clicked. These events are counted on our server; they set no cookies, do not build a profile of you, and are not shared for advertising.

For advertising measurement we use Google Ads conversion tracking, which sets cookies when it runs, so we can see which ads lead people to try the demo. We run it through Google Consent Mode: if you're in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland these cookies are off by defaultand you'll see a short banner to accept or decline; elsewhere they're used to measure conversions. You can decline — the site works exactly the same, and we simply measure less.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
